# Compliance: DNC & suppression

> Keep outreach compliant — the Do Not Call list, SMS opt-outs, and the email suppression list.

Funnel enforces contact preferences automatically across every campaign. Two
registries do the work — you'll find both under AI Campaigns.

## Do Not Call (DNC) list

Numbers on the DNC list are **excluded from all outbound voice and SMS**, in
every campaign, for your whole workspace. Suppression is independent of
contact records — it survives even if the contact is deleted.

* **Add one number**: enter it with its country code, optionally with a
  reason, and click **Add to DNC**.
* **Bulk import**: upload a `.csv`, `.txt`, or `.xlsx` — every number found is
  normalized and added; invalid or duplicate entries are previewed and
  skipped.
* **Remove** an entry to make the number reachable again.

Separately, contacts who reply **STOP** to an SMS are opted out of texting
automatically — no action needed from you.

## Email suppression list

Addresses here receive **no campaign email**. You never add entries manually —
they arrive automatically when a recipient **unsubscribes**, a send
**hard-bounces**, or the message is **marked as spam**, and each entry shows
its reason.

Every campaign email carries an unsubscribe link; clicking it adds the address
here and shows the recipient a confirmation page.

<Warning>
  You *can* remove a suppressed address to make it emailable again — but
  re-sending to people who unsubscribed or bounced hurts your deliverability.
  Only do it when the entry was a mistake.
</Warning>

## Where campaigns check these lists

At dispatch time, every campaign automatically skips DNC'd numbers, STOP
opt-outs, and suppressed email addresses. The campaign form also warns you up
front when selected recipients are already suppressed, and excluded contacts
are counted in the scheduler's "no contacts to dial" explanations.
