# Install an app

> Find a ready-made automation, connect your own details, and turn it on — usually in about a minute.

Installing a Marketplace app copies it into your account as a **draft
automation**. You connect your own details, test it, and publish. Here's the
whole flow.

## 1. Find an app

Open **Marketplace** in the sidebar and browse. Each card shows what the app
does, how many businesses use it, and a badge:

| Badge                      | Meaning                                                                                        |
| -------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **✓ Works with your plan** | Everything this app needs is already on your plan. |
| **⚡ Needs an add-on** | It uses something extra (e.g. SMS) that isn't on your plan yet — you'll be prompted to add it. |

Narrow things down with:

* **Search** — type what you want to do ("review", "reminder", "follow up").
* **Category** chips — Lead Management, Sales & Follow-up, Appointments, and more.
* **Industry** — filter to apps built for businesses like yours.
* **♡ Like** — save the ones you're interested in.

## 2. See what it does

Click a card to open its page. Before you install anything, you can see exactly
what it will do:

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="What this app does" icon="list-check">
    A plain-English, step-by-step walkthrough — "When a new lead comes in, it
    sends them a text, then emails them."
  </Card>

  <Card title="See the full flow" icon="diagram-project">
    An optional visual map of every step and branch, so you can inspect exactly
    what runs before committing.
  </Card>

  <Card title="What you'll connect" icon="plug">
    The details you'll provide — your phone number, inbox, or calendar. Nothing
    technical.
  </Card>

  <Card title="Who made it" icon="user">
    The business that shared it (or "an anonymous author"), plus how many
    installs and likes it has.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## 3. Install it

Click **Use this app**. Flow9 copies the app into your account as a draft — with
the author's private details already removed — and takes you to a short **guided
setup**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Connect your own details">
    For each thing the app needs — a phone number, an inbox, a calendar — you'll
    pick your own in the builder. The author's are already blanked out.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your add-ons">
    If the app uses something that isn't on your plan yet, you'll see it here and
    be prompted to add it before you can turn the app on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test it, then turn it on">
    Open the builder to finish, fill in your details, and use **Run** to send
    yourself a test. When it looks right, hit **Publish** to go live.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Info>
  Your installed app is a **draft** until you publish it — nothing sends, and no
  one is contacted, until you're ready.
</Info>

## 4. It's yours now

Once published, the app runs in your account on your own details, exactly like
an automation you built yourself. Edit it, pause it, or duplicate it any time in
[Workforce Studio](/guide/workforce-studio/overview).

## Updates

If the author releases a new version of an app you installed, you'll get a
notification that an **update is available**. Your installed copy keeps working
as-is — updating is your choice.

## Something wrong with an app?

On any app's page, use **Report this app** to flag it (spam, broken,
inappropriate). The Flow9 team reviews every report.
